Marquise de Berkenfield (Soprano) - A surprise relative of Marie’s, she hopes Marie will marry a rich German noble

Duchesse de Krankentorp (Soprano) - Mother of the German noble, Marie’s betrothed

Tonio (Tenor) - Joined the 21st Regiment because he is in love with Marie after saving her from falling into a ravine

Sulpice (Bass) - Sergeant of the French army, he adopted Marie into the regiment but later discovers she is related to the Marquise

Hortensius (Bass) - Steward to the Marquise
