The Characters
Manon (Soprano) - A coquettish young girl whose doomed love for Le Chevalier des Grieux motivates the Opera.
Le Chevalier des Grieux (Tenor) - A young noble who falls desperately in love with Manon against his father's wishes.
Lescaut (Baritone) - Manon's cousin, whose responsibility is to watch over her but he spends more time at the gambling table with his ever-changing love interest.
Le Comte des Grieux (Bass) - The young Chevalier's father who is strongly against the marriage of his son and Manon and goes to great lengths to keep the couple apart.
Guillot de Morfontaine (Tenor) and De Brétigny ( Baritone) - Two noblemen who compete for the affections of Manon.
Rosette, Poussette, Javotte (Soprano) - Three young actresses who are constantly flirting with Guillot.
